I’m MaryEllen Reider, co-founder of Yarlap, mom, and a passionate advocate for women’s wellness—especially when it comes to the parts no one talks about.
I co-founded Yarlap with my dad, Brent, because of something that hits close to home.
We all have that friend or family member who says, “Stop! You’ll make me pee myself,” when they laugh too hard. For us, that wasn’t just a joke—it became a real concern.”
As I started learning more, I realized this experience isn’t rare. Incontinence affects women of all ages—but we don’t talk about it. It’s often too personal, wrapped up in feelings of shame or embarrassment. And yet, it can have a huge impact—not just physically, but emotionally too. Some clinical studies even show a strong link between urinary incontinence and depression in women.
The go-to advice is usually “just do Kegels,” but here’s the thing—around 60% of women don’t know if they’re doing them correctly, even with professional guidance. That’s where Yarlap comes in.
Our device is FDA-cleared and designed to do the entire pelvic floor workout for you—no awkward guesswork. You simply use it for 20 minutes a day, and it targets the exact muscles that need strengthening. It’s made from medical-grade materials and is small, comfortable, and discreet—like a tampon.
Treating the cause of leaks, instead of just managing symptoms with pads or diapers, isn’t just more empowering—it’s more affordable and eco-conscious, too.
My co-founder (and dad) Brent is the brains behind the tech. He’s an internationally recognized leader in bio-mimicry electrostimulation, including neuroplasticity device design. His devices are used by the National Healthcare Systems of France, Germany, Scandinavia, and Great Britain. His patents focus on patient safety and maximum exercise efficiency, and he also serves as a peer review referee for medical and scientific journals—he’s even published research on pelvic floor muscle function and women’s health.
As for me—I’m a mom. I understand how important pelvic floor care is, especially postpartum. But I also know how chaotic life gets when you’re managing a million responsibilities. That’s why I’m passionate about making pelvic floor wellness simple, accessible, and stigma-free.
Yarlap is about more than fixing leaks. It’s about helping women feel strong, supported, and confident in their own bodies—because we deserve that.
